Minute Men fall just short in loss to Gamblers!
It might have been a rematch of last season's AFC championship game, however the ending was different. The Boston Minute Men fell by the score of 37-33 to the Las Vegas Gamblers on Saturday night. Vance Becker, the defending league mvp, was the game's top passer with 343 passing yards, and 3 touchdowns. Earl Wregget was his natural explosive self with a touchdown, and 112 rushing yards for the game. Edward Canterbury had another outstanding performance with 2 touchdowns, and 130 receiving yards as the game's top receiver. The Gamblers will travel to San Diego to take on their AFC West divisional foe, the San Diego Rage next Thursday night in primetime. (Sep. 12, 2015)

Foxes dominate Bandits in annual kickoff game!
The defending Super Bowl champions flexed their muscle on Thursday night in the league's annual kickoff classic as the Detroit Foxes defeated the Indianapolis Bandits by the score of 34-24. Douglas Knotts was the game's top passer with 2 touchdowns, and 297 passing yards. The story of the game however, was the Foxes rookie running back Austin Thomas who ran for 2 touchdowns, and 171 rushing yards. He also had 36 receiving yards. Kendall Price was the game's top receiver with 118 receiving yards for the game. The Foxes defense also held it's own with 3 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and 2 interceptions, one of which was returned 85 yards for a touchdown by Donatello Harris. (Sep. 10, 2015)

League announces full schedule for 2015 season!
On Wednesday the league announced the complete schedule for the 2015 season. The season will kick off on Thursday, September 10 with the defending Super Bowl champion Detroit Foxes hosting the Indianapolis Bandits. Two days later, the defending AFC champion Boston Minute Men will host the Las Vegas Gamblers. The Thanksgiving Day games will see the Philadelphia Crows at the Detroit Foxes, Cincinnati Knights at Dallas Cougars, and New York Empires at Houston Riders. This year the Christmas Eve Classic will feature the Detroit Foxes as they will host the California Dragons. There will be games also on Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day. Peachtree part of blockbuster three team trade!
As the free agency period begins in under an hour, a huge blockbuster trade has just been completed involving the Detroit Foxes, St. Louis Speed, and Dallas Cougars. The Foxes receive defensive end Brandon Hayes, who has restructured his contract. They send defensive end Cedric Hawes to the Cougars. The Foxes also send wide receiver Wallace Poole to the Speed. The Cougars send defensive end Xavier Brown and quarterback Danny Peachtree to the Speed. In return the Cougars will receive St. Louis' second round pick (41st overall) and fourth round pick (137th overall) in this year's upcoming draft. Burners send Rederick Donahue to Minute Men!
Just days after losing Super Bowl XXXI to the Detroit Foxes, the Boston Minute Men pulled off a huge trade to set their team up for another run next season. On Thursday, the Boston Minute Men traded for inside linebacker Rederick Donahue. The Minue Men send their first round pick (31st overall), and fourth round pick (127th overall) in this year's draft, and their third round pick in next year's draft to the Tampa Bay Burners in exchange for their all pro middle linebacker. Donahue will be paired with fellow all pro linebacker Orlando McCain. The Minute Men finished 2014 with a 14-2 record and were the AFC champions. Enforcers and Jackals hire new head coaches!
On Wednesday, the Chicago Enforcers and Tennessee Jackals announced the hiring of their new head coaches. Early in the morning, the Tennessee Jackals announced the hiring of Larry Armstrong. Armstrong served last season as the defensive coordinator of the Arizona Outlaws. Armstrong was the head coach of the Cincinnati Knights from 2009-2012. Then, later in the day the Chicago Enforcers announced the hiring of Cameron Webb as their new head coach. Webb served as the offensive coordinator of the Super Bowl XXXI champion Detroit Foxes from 2012 through this past season. Webb announced the hiring of Dick Lloyd and Harvey Sanders as offensive and defensive coordinators. (Jan. 28, 2015)

Foxes complete perfect season at Super Bowl!
Super Bowl XXXI would see what many never thought was possible, the completion of the perfect season. The Detroit Foxes defeated the Boston Minute Men on Sunday by the score of 38-17 behind the mvp performance of Douglas Knotts who threw for 4 touchdowns, and 427 yards. Elroy Johnson had another terrific performance with his rushing touchdown, and 97 rushing yards to go with his 48 receiving yards. Clayton Cummings was the game's top receiver with 2 touchdowns, and 146 receiving yards. The Foxes Super Bowl win capped off the best season in league history with a perfect 16-0 record during the regular season, and a perfect 3-0 record during the playoffs. (Jan. 25, 2015)

Annual award winners announced for season!
On Saturday night before Super Bowl XXXI the annual AFL Honors commenced wiuth the announcing of the award winners for the 2014 season. The winners were; Vance Becker (Bos) won league mvp, Douglas Knotts (Det) won offensive player of the year, Keenan Tulofa (Ari) won defensive player of the year, Austin McNiel (Ind) won offensive rookie of the year, A.J. Moses (Ari) won defensive rookie of the year, Matt Grey (Ari) won the surprise player of the year, Elroy Johnson (Det) received the rushing title award with 1,693 yards, and Wayne Garrett (Det) won the coach of the year award. Atlanta is named host for Super Bowl XXXII!
During Commisoner Price's annual State of the League address the Monday of Super Bowl week, he announced that Super Bowl XXXII will be played in Atlanta, Georgia in the brand new home of the Atlanta Cheetahs. This marks the first Super Bowl in Atlanta since January 26, 2003 where in Super Bowl XIX the Detroit Foxes defeated the Las Vegas Gamblers by the score of 27-21 in a thrilling game. Super Bowl XXXII will be played Sunday, January 31, 2016. The new home of the Atlanta Cheetahs will be open for the start of the 2015 season. Atlanta's brand new stadium features state of the art technology, a retrectable roof, glass walls, and will give fans a very unique football experience. (Jan. 19, 2015)

Foxes and Minute Men to meet in Super Bowl!
Super Bowl XXXI will be a rematch of Super Bowl XXIII as the Detroit Foxes and Boston Minute Men won their respective conference championships. The first game of championship Sunday saw the Bosotn Minute Men pull of a historic comeback to defeat the Las Vegas Gamblers in overtime by the score of 28-22 to win the AFC championship. Following that game, the Detroit Foxes thoroughly defeated the Arizona Outlaws by the score of 45-7 to claim their eleventh NFC cxhampionship. Boston and Detroit met in Super Bowl XXIII in Los Angeles, California where the Foxes defeated the Minute Men by the score of 38-20 behind the mvp performance of Detroit's Marvin Horner. Burners hire Brad Elliott as new head coach!
The Tampa Bay Burner have announced on Friday that they have hired Brad Elliott as the team's new head coach. Elliott previously had served as the defensive coordinator of the Colorado Demons from 2010 through the 2014 season, and before that he served as the defensive line coach from 2006 through 2009. With Elliott as the team's defensive coordinator, the Demons have emerged into one of the top defensie team's in the league. There has been no word yet on anyone joining his coaching staff in Tampa Bay. Linebacker's coach Phil Snow has been promoted to defensive coordinator for the Demons. Thursday at noon was the deadline for college underclassmen to declare for the draft. Among the notable underclassmen that declared were; Tommy Reese (QB) from Notre Dame, Chris L. McDurmond hired as Commandos new coach!
The Celeveland Commandos wasted little time in their pursuit of John McDurmond as within 3 days of the Buffalo Destroyers being eliminated from the playoffs, McDurmond has been announced as the new head coach of the Commandos. McDurmond served as the offensive coordinator of the Destroyers from 2012 where he helped coach the Destroyers to 2 playoff appreances and a division title. He helped turn a weak offensive team into one of the buggest turn arounds in the league this past season. John McDurmond is also brining Bob Owens over to Cleveland. Conference Finals are set for NFC and AFC!
With the conclusion of Sunday's games, the AFC and NFC Conference Championship games are now set. On Sunday, January 18 at 3:05 the Las Vegas Gamblers will take on the Boston Minute Men in Boston. The Gamblers defeated the Cincinnati Knights by the score of 24-13 on Sunday. The Minute Men defeated the Buffalo Destroyers on Saturday by the score of 35-31. Following that game at 6:40 will be the Arizona Outlaws taking on the Detroit Foxes. Arizona reached the championship game with their 31-17 victory over the Philadelphia Crows, while Detroit reached with their 26-21 victory over the Atlanta Cheetahs. Dragons hire Steve Shields as head coach!
It has been a whirlwind of a week for the California Dragons. On Sunday they were eliminated from the playoffs with a 24-20 loss to the Las Vegas Gamblers, then the next day, head coach Harold Lawrence announced his retirement from coaching. On Friday, the team announced their new direction, and a familiar name as the team's new head coach. Steve Shields, the man who led the Dragons to three Super Bowl titles, is the team's new head coach, fresh off of three seasons as the offensive coordinator of the Los Angeles Mustangs. The Mustangs had a suprising offensive season in 2014. The Dragons finished 2014 with a 10-6 record and hold the 21st overall pick in this April's draft. (Jan. 9, 2015)

Denison hired as Cougars new head coach!
Less than 48 hours after the Dallas Cougars fired head coach Frank Beamer, they have found their new man as they have officially hired Scott Denison as the team's new head coach. Denison served as the offensive coordinator for the Seattle Storm since 2012. Denison also brings with him recently fired Carolina Cutthroats offensive coordinator Darren Young, and Tom Kelly as the team's new defensive coordinator. Kelly has served the the defensive coordinator for the Chicago Enforcers since 2013, and before that as the defensive line coach for the Philadelphia Crows from 2008 through 2012. The Cougars finished 2014 with a 4-12 record, and hold the fourth pick in April's draft. (Dec. 31, 2014)

Five coaches fired as Black Monday arrives!
As Black Monday is upon us several teams across the league have fired their head coaches. The Tennessee Jackals have fired Greg Bernett who has been their head coach since 2013. Following their 3-13 season, the Tampa Bay Burners have fired long time head coach Jared Lowes. Following another disasterous second half of the season, the cleveland Commandos have fired heach coach Harvey Sanders. Also, following their 4-12 season, the Dallas Cougars have fired Frank Beamer as their head coach. The Chicago Enforcers as expected fired Damon Smith as their head coach following only two seasons. Teams can not talk to coaches currently on playoff teams. (Dec. 29, 2014)

League announces wild card week schedule!
The league has announced the schedule for wild card week. On Saturday, the Indianapolis Bandits will take on the Philadelphia Crows at 4:30 pm on NBC, which will be immediatly followed by the Buffalo Destroyers taking on the Houston Riders. On Sunday, the Colorado Demons will travel to Atlanta to take on the Cheetahs at 1:05 pm on FOX. At 4:40 pm on CBS the California Dragons will take on the Las Vegas Gamblers in another renewal of their rivalry. The NFC top seeds belong to the Detroit Foxes and Arizona Outlaws, while the AFC's top seeds belong to the Boston Minute Men and Cincinnati Knights. League announces the Week 11 award winners!
On Tuesday, the league announced the award winners for week eleven of the season. The offensive player of the week was awarded to the Boston Minute Men quarterback Vance Becker who threw for 4 touchdowns, and 477 passing yards in their 49-6 victory over the Tennessee Jackals. The defensive player of the week was awarded to the Milwaukee Avengers defensive end Frosty Tucker who had 6 tackles, 3 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and an interception in their 31-20 win over the Baltimore Federals. The rookie of the week was awarded to the Arizona Outlaws rookie defensive end Keyon Dooling who recorded 5 tackles, and 4 sacks in their 21-10 victory over the Seattle Storm. (Nov. 18, 2014)

Cheetahs defeat the Empires in rivalry renewal!
In one of the top rivalries in league history the Atlanta Cheetahs and New Yorm empires took the field on Monday night in another classic game in the long standing rivalry that saw a 16-10 victory by the Cheetahs over the Empires. Following a 10-0 halftime deficit, Travis Colin led the Cheetahs to 16 unanswered points behind his 269 passing yards. He also threw for a touchdown. Shaun White was the game's top rusher with 52 rushing yards. Heywood Banks was the game's top receiver with 84 receiving yards. The Atlanta win, coupled with the New Orleans losing to the San Diego Rage gives the Cheetahs a 2 game lead in the NFC South. Atlanta will host the Las Vegas Gamblers next week on another Monday night game. The Empires will now travel to Washington to take on the Talons. (Nov. 17, 2014)

Hybrids edge the Gamblers in very tight game!
In one of the best games of this season, the Houston Hybrids defeated the Las Vegas Gamblers by the score of 21-17 to win their fifth game in a row. Against the talented Las Vegas defense, Jeff Crowley was impressive with 2 touchdowns, and 377 passing yards. Darnell Sullivan was likewise impressive with a rushing touchdown, and 102 rushing yards. He also had a receiving touchdown, and 41 receiving yards for the game. Carey Calahan was the game's top receiver with a touchdown, and 112 receiving yards. The Hybrids currently sit as the sixth seeded team in the AFC playoff picture. Houston will now take on the AFC South division leading Miami Atlantics next Sunday. (Nov. 16, 2014)

Cougars offense can't keep up with Speed!
The Dallas Cougars were unable to rise to the occasion on the offensive side of the ball against the tough St. Louis Speed defense as the Speed defeated the Cougars by the score of 22-7 on Thursday night. Danny Peachtree was the gam'es top passer with 221 passing yards for the game. Andre Duncan once again turned out an impressive performance with a touchdown, 117 rushing yards, and 26 receiving yards. Jamal Weekes was the game's top receiver with a touchdown, and 110 receiving yards. The Speed will now travel to Seattle to take on the Storm, while the Cougars will now host the Arizona Outlaws. League announces the Week 9 award winners!
On Tuesday, the league announced the award winners for week nine of the season. With no suprise, the offensive player of the week and rookie of the week were both awarded to the Indianapolis Bandits rookie quarterback Austin McNiel who threw for 516 yards, and 7 touchdowns. McNiel also ran for 46 yards in the 56-17 victoery over the Chicago Enforcers. The defensive player of the week was awarded to the Buffalo Destroyers linebacker Dyron Dye who had 5 tackles, a fumble recovery, and a sack in their 19-17 victory over the Minnesota Defenders. However, the play of the game came with only four seconds remaining when he blocked the potential game winning field goal. (Nov. 4, 2014)

Crows take East lead with win over Empires!
With the Washington Talons loss on Sunday to the Cleveland Commandos, first place was up for grabs in the NFC East, and the Philadelphia Crows took control of the division with an impressive 28-10 victory over the New York Empires on Monday night. Brett Smith had a fantastic game with 36 touchdown passes, and 322 passing yards while running for another 24 yards. Kelvin Diggs was also impressive with a touchdown, and 107 rushing yards. Rookie wide receiver Cookie Wallace was also terrific with 2 touchdowns, and 120 receiving yards while also running the ball on one play for 42 yards. The Crows hold a one game lead over the New York Empires and Washington Talons. (Nov. 3, 2014)

Dragons defense holds the Rage to no points!
Even with their recent struggles, the California Dragons put together a strong defensive performance to shutout AFC West rival San Diego Rage with a 21-0 victory on Sunday night. Despite a valient performance by the San Diego defense, Gabriel Carmichael was able to throw for 262 passing yards, and 2 touchdowns. Julian Barrymore had 64 rushing yards, and a touchdown as the game's top runner. Trent Garland put together a strong game with a touchdown, and 103 receiving yards. The Dragons remain 2 games behind the Las Vegas Gamblers for first place in the AFC West. Up next for the Dragons is a road game on Sunday against the struggling 2-6 Los Angeles Mustangs. Bandits offense erupts against the Enforcers!
While Austin McNiel has relatively been flying under the rookie of the year radar, he put up an offensive explosion on Sunday in a 56-17 victory over the Chicago Enforcers by the Indianapolis Bandits. McNiel threw for 516 yards, and 7 touchdowns. McNiel also ran for 46 yards in the game. The rest of the Indianapolis offense was firing on all cylinders likewise as Jevon Jones had 3 combined touchdowns, 172 rsuhing yards, and 65 receiving yards.Timoa Iann had a career high with 2 touchdowns, and 213 receving yards. The Bandits still remain 2 games behind the Detroit Foxes for first place in the NFC North. The Bandits will next host the 3-5 Cleveland Commandos on Sunday. (Nov. 2, 2014)

League announces the Week 6 award winners!
On Tuesday, the league announced the award winners for week six of the season. Once again, the offensive player of the week and rookie of the week award was awarded to the same individual, as the Indianapolis Bandits rookie quarterback Austin McNiel took home the awards with his 364 passing yards, and 3 touchdown performance in the Bandits convincing 28-9 win over the Brooklyn RedBlacks. The defensive palyer of the week award went to the California Dragons defensive end Trevor Hamilton who was key in the Dragons 25-21 win over the San Diego Rage. Hamilton had 7 tackles, 3 sacks, a forced fumble that he recovered, and a safety on San Diego's Nathanial Roberts. (Oct. 14, 2014)

Commandos and Hornets pull off a huge trade!
Tuesday morning saw a huge trade occur between the Cleveland Commandos and the Pittsburgh Hornets. The Hornets sent wide receiver James Senton, cornerback Daryn Smith, safety Alonzo Murphy, and linebacker Washington Jabaar to the Commandos in exchange for Cleveland's first round pick and second round pick in the 2015 draft, and their second round pick in the 2016 draft. The aquisition of 4 new players in key roles will definetally benefit the Commandos who had needs at all four poisitions. Cleveland still has an additional second round pick from Minnesota from their quarterback trade earlier in the pre-season that saw them acquire Andrew Miller for Shawn Carroll. (Oct. 14, 2014)

Cheetahs unbeaten after win over Carnivores!
While the Atlanta Cheetahs have been surging, the defending Super Bowl champions have been slumping, and the slump continued on Monday night as the Carnivores fell in defeat to the Cheetahs by the score of 13-7. Travis Colin was held in check with only 227 passing yards for the game, however, with 1:19 remaining in the first half, Colin ran the ball 13 yards for a touchdown. Shaun White was very impressive in this defensive slug fest as he ran the ball for 108 rushing yards. Heywood Banks was the game's top receiver with 77 receiving yards. These two teams will meet for the second straight week, as this Sunday the 1-4 Carnivores will host the 5-0 NFC South division leading Cheetahs. (Oct. 13, 2014)

Dragons keep pace with victory over the Rage!
The California Dragons were able to keep pace with the Las Vegas Gamblers in the AFC West with their 25-21 victory over another divisional rival, the San Diego Rage on Sunday night. Against a tough Rage defense, Gabriel Carmichael passed for 2 touchdowns, and 274 passing yards. David Wesley had another good game likewise, as he was the receipient of both of Gabriel Carmichael's 2 touchdown passes, and had 122 receiving yards. The win keeps the Dragons one game behind the Gamblers in the AFC West. The California Dragons will host the 2-3 Baltimore Federals next sunday night, while on Thursday night, the Las Vegas Gamblers will host the 3-2 Miami Atlantics. (Oct. 12, 2014)

Empires defeat Talons and move into first!
It was a crucial game within the NFC East, and the New York Empires took a share of the division lead with their 17-13 victory over the Washington Talons on Thursday night. Scott Tolzner was held somewhat in check compared to his last few games with a passing game of 217 passing yards, and a touchdown. Dorrel Jackson ran the ball for 77 rushing yards, while Andre Wynn was the game's top receiver with 83 receiving yards. Corey Mitchell was impressive with 2 interceptions, while returning one of those 72 yards for a touchdown. The Empires, Talons, and Philadelphia Crows now sit in a three way tie on top of the NFC East with 3-2 records. The Empires hold the tie-breaker. (Oct. 9, 32014)

On Tuesday, the league announced the award winners for week five of the season. For the second time this year, the offensive player of the week and rookie of the week awards went to the same player as Philadelphia Crows rookie wide receiver Cookie Wallace took home both awards with his outstanding performance in their 34-28 victory over the Chicago Enforcers. Cookie Wallace was outstanding with 171 receiving yards, and 3 touchdowns. The defensive player of the week was awarded to the Detroit Foxes cornerback Donatello Harris who had 7 tackles, 3 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and an interception returned for a touchdown in their 23-17 win against the Baltimore Federals. Foxes beat Federals in Super Bowl rematch!
It was the rematch of Super Bowl XXVI, and the result was exactly the same as the Detroit Foxes defeated the Baltimore Federals by the score of 23-17 in Baltimore on Monday night. Douglas Knotts looked impressive against a strong showing by the Baltimore defense as he threw the ball for 2 touchdowns, and had 290 passing yards. Elroy Johnson was held somewhat in check as he ran the ball for 80 rushing yards, but was held without a touchdown. Daryll Kincaid scored a touchdown, and caught the ball for 83 receiving yards. Donatello Harris also intercepted the ball and ran it back for a touchdown. Detroit now has their bye week before hosting the Chicago Enforcers. (Oct. 6, 2014)

Avengers defeat the Cougars in second win!
After the Milwaukee Avengers started the season with three straight disappointing losses, the team has done a complete turnaround as on Sunday night, they defeated the Dallas Cougars by the score of 20-14 to get their second straight win of the season. Despite losing the game, Andre Duncan had a superb showing for himself as he ran the ball for 2 touchdowns, and had 136 rushing yards in the game. Richard Adams threw for 2 touchdowns, and had 244 passing yards. Greg Chatham was the game's top receiver with 89 receiving yards for the game. Up next for the Avengers is their bye week before a Monday night showdown at Philadelphia against the surging Crows. (Oct. 5, 2014)

Crows prevail in Smith's debut in Chicago!
It was the debut of running back Gerald Smith with the Chicago Enforcers, however, the story of the game quickly became the emergance of rookie quarterback Brett Smith and rookie wide receiver Cookie Wallace as they led the Philadelphia Crows to a 34-28 victory in Chicago. Brett Smith passed for five touchdowns, and 312 yards, and ran the ball for 42 additional yards. Kelvin Diggs was the game's top rusher with 72 rushig yards, and 29 receiving yards, with a receiving touchdown. Cookie Wallace was outstanding with 171 receiving yards, and 3 touchdowns. On Tuesday, the league announced the award winners for week four of the season. The offensive player of the week was awarded to the Indianapolis Bandits running back Jevon Jones who ran the ball for 175 rushing yards, and scored 2 touchdowns in the Bandits 31-13 victory over the Philadelphia Crows. The rookie of the week went to the New York Empires quarterback Scott Tolzner as he threw for 4 touchdowns, and 330 passing yards in the Empires 37-18 win over the Cincinnati Knights. The defensive player of the week was awarded to the Arizona Outlaws cornerback Anthony "Tweak" Thompson who had 3 interceptions in the Outlaws 31-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Burners. Minute Men trade Smith to the Enforcers!
Tuesday morning finally saw a conclusion come to Gerald Smith contract sage with the Boston Minute Men as the team traded their star running back to the Chicago Enforcers. Along with Gerald Smith, the Minute Men are also sending their fourth round pick in next year's draft to Chicago in exchange for running back Charles Bentley and Chicago's first round pick in next year's draft. Gerald Smith was the 17th overall pick of the 2005 draft, by the Minute Men, out of Indiana. Even though Smith came into the league almost ten years ago, he still has alot to give due to the fact the Minute Men brought him in as a member of their famed "3 headed monster" in the 2000's. Schultz and Empires get win over Knights!
Monday night saw the New York Empires head coach Tim Schultz take on the Cincinnati Knights, the very team that just last year he was the offensive coordinator for and helped them on their way to a birth in the Super Bowl. It was a big night for Schultz as his team, led by Scott Tolzner for the 37-18 victory over his former team. It was aniother huge game for the second straight week for Tolzner as he threw for 4 touchdowns, and 330 passing yards. Deagen Motts had his biggest game as a member of the Empires as he had 2 touchdowns, and 119 receiving yards. New York now heads into their bye week before an important NFC East game with the division leading Washington Talons. (Sep. 29, 2014)

Storm defense unable to tame those Foxes!
The tough defense of the Seattle Storm had a terrible night on Sunday night as they were unable to stop the even tougher Detroit offense as the Detroit Foxes defeated the Storm by the score of 31-17. Douglas Knotts threw 2 touchdowns, and had 316 passing yards in the game. Elroy Johnson was held under 100 yards rushing as he had 97 rushing yards, but was also able to score a touchdown. The game's top receiver was tight end Eugene Lockhart who had 66 receiving yards. Donatello Harris also came up big with an interception returned 34 yards for a touchdown. Detroit now sits at 4-0 on top of the NFC North with a Monday night game next week at Baltimore. (Sep. 28, 2014)

Outlaws defense secures win over Burners!
Coming into this season it was heavily debated that the Arizona Outlaws would have one of the game's top defenses and they displayed that tough defense in all it's glory on Sunday as the Outlaws defense forced 8 turnovers, and scored 2 touchdowns in their 31-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Burners. Matt Grey looked good as he threw the ball for 262 passing yards, while Otis Harper was great with two touchdowns, and 124 rushing yards. The Outlaws have now temporarily moved into second place in the NFC West, trailing the Colorado Demons. Up next for the Outlaws is a home game against the 1-3 Houston Hybrids before heading into their bye week the following week. (Sep. 28, 2014)

Gamblers offense too much for the Dragons!
In a battle for bragging rights in the AFC West, it was the defending division champion who came out on top as the Las Vegas Gamblers defeated the California Dragons by the score of 42-30 on Thursday night. Calvin Ayre was exceptional with 3 touchdown passes, and 323 passing yards. Against the tough Dragons defense Earl Wregget was able to rush for 97 yards, and had a receiving touchdown. Edward Canterbury was the game's top receiver with a touchdown, and 114 receiving yards. With the win the Gamblers now hold a one game lead over the Dragons. Both teams now head into their bye week before games with the Carolina Cutthroats, and divisional rival, the San Diego Rage. (Sep. 25, 2014)

League announces the Week 3 award winners!
On Tuesday, the league announced the award winners for week three of the season. The offensive player of the week was awarded to California Dragons wide receiver David wesley who had 4 touchdowns, 282 receiving yards, and 21 rushing yards in their 56-14 blowout win over the Speed. The defensive player of the week was awarded to Chicago Enforcers cornerback Jonathan Jacoby who had 5 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 interceptions, with one of them being returned 81 yards for a touchdown in their 27-7 win over the Jackals. The rookie of the week was awarded to the New York Empires quarterback Scott Tolzner who helped lead the Empires to an impressive win over the Hornets. (Sep. 23, 2014)

Minute Men outlast Avengers on close game!
In one of the most exciting and close games of the season, the Boston Minute Men outlasted the Milwaukee Avengers to get the victory by the score of 21-18. With the win, the Minute Men now improve to 3-0 and are on top of the AFC East, while the loss drops the Avengers to 0-3 for the young season as they are in last place by themselves in the tough NFC North. Vance Becker had a good game against the tough Milwaukee defense as he threw the ball for 2 touchdowns, and 272 passing yards. Gerald Smith was also very good as he scored a touchdown, and had 111 rushing yards. Up next for the Minute Men is a bye week before hosting division rival Brooklyn Redblacks. (Sep. 22, 2014)

Defending champion Carnivores lose again!
This season is a far cry from what the Kansas City Carnivores looked like last year, as for the third straight game, the Carnivores lose at home and now have fallen to 0-3 for the season. The Carnivores lost on Sunday night to the Las Vegas Gamblers by the score of 24-10. Calvin Ayre torched the Kansas City defense for 2 touchdowns, and 326 passing yards. Jeremy Douglas finished the game with a touchdown, 98 receiving yards. Earl Wregget had a nice game also with a rushing touchdown, and 112 rushing yards. Wregget also had a receving toiuchdown, and 27 receiving yards. The Gamblers will now travel to California on Thursday to take on the undefeated Dragons. (Sep. 21, 2014)

Tolzner good as Empires get first victory!
Scott Tolzners finally had the kind of game that many expected the rookie to have as he helped lead the New York empires to their first victory of the season in 30-24 win over the Pittsburgh Hornets. Tolzner threw for 304 passing yards, and three touchdowns. Andre Wynn was the recipient of 2 of those touchdown passes from Tolzner. Wynn also finished the game with 109 receiving yards. Matt Adams also looked good as he had a touchdown and 72 receiving yards. Although he was kept out of the endzome, Dorrel Jackson finished the game with 12 receiving yards, and 115 rushing yards. The Empires will host the 2-1 Cincinnati Knights next week in a huge Monday night battle. (Sep. 21, 2014)

Dragons complete game embarass the Speed!
In what was a return game for Delious Childs against his former team, it was a complete embarassment as the California Dragons thouroughly emrbarassed the St. Louis speed with a 56-14 victory in St. Louis. Childs, who was traded from the Dragons to the Speed in the off season, was limited to just 17 rushing yards for the game. Gabriel Carmichael was splendid with 394 passing yards, and 5 touchdowns. Despite the incredible game that Carmichael put together, the story of the game was wide receiver David wesley who had 4 touchdowns, and 282 receiving yards. In addition to those stats, Wesley also had a rushing play where he came up with 21 rushing yards. The Dragons are currently 3-0 with a half game lead on the Las Vegas Gamblers who they will play next Thursday night. (Sep. 18, 2014)

League announces the Week 2 award winners!
On Tuesday, the league announced the award winners for week two of the season. For the first time this season both the offensive player of the week award, and the rookie of the week was awarded to the same player as Brooklyn RedBlacks rookie running back Kenyon Barnes who ran the ball for 174 rushing yards, and had 58 receiving yards, with a pair of touchdowns in the RedBlacks 27-17 victory over the Chicago Enforcers. The defensive player of the week was awarded to the Detroit Foxes cornerback Donatello Harris who had 4 tackles, three interceptions, a forced fumble, a sack, and fumble recovery in the Foxes 28-13 victory over the Tennessee Jackals in Tennessee. Knights get back on track against Talons!
After a sluggish season opener last week at home against the Las Vegas Gamblers, the Cincinnati Knights appeared to get back on track with an impressive 27-21 victory over the Washington Talons on Monday night. The Knights were led on offense by Thomas Kaye who had passed for 317 yards, and 2 touchdowns. Curtis Redd was also very impressive with a touchdown, and 123 rushing yards for the game. Marshall Hall had the best game of his young career as he had 2 touchdowns, and 112 receiving yards. The 1-1 Knights will next host the AFC North division leading 2-0 Minnesota Marauders who lead them by one game. The 1-1 Talons will host the 2-0 Buffalo Destroyers. (Sep. 15, 2014)

Federals win despite offensive struggles!
Despite the fact that the Baltimore Federals failed to score a single touchdown, they came out on the winning end of an 18-10 victory on Sunday night agains tthe Miami Atlantics. Baltimore suffered from 8 red zone possessions that failed to end with a touchdown. The player of the game was Baltimore's kicker Dave Horvath who kicked 6 field goals for all of the Federals scoring. Chad Hennipen was the game's top passer with 226 passing yards. Charles Hunt finished with 57 of those yards as the game's top receiver. The Federals trail the Minutye Men and RedBlacks by one game. Up next is a Sunday visit to the 1-1 Indianapolis Bandits. Outlaws look good in win over Carnivores!
The Kansas City Carnivores now have become the first Super Bowl champion to lose both of their first two games in the following season as they were defeated by the score of 38-12 at the hands of the Arizona Outlaws. Matt Grey looked like he did back when he led the Tennessee Jackals to their Super Bowl XXIV championship as he threw for 3 touchdowns, and 339 passing yards. As good as Matt Grey looked, Otis Harper was equally as impressive with 125 rushing yards, and a touchdown. He also had 73 receiving yards, and a touchdown. Free agent aquisition wide receiver Desmond Brookens also appeared to have a career game with a touchdown, and 131 receiving yards. (Sep. 14, 2014)

Cheetahs secure overtime win over Demons!
This thursday night clash was being builled as one of the top games of the season, and it did not disappoint as the Atlanta Cheertahs defeated the Colorado Demons by the score of 20-17 in overtime. Travis Colin had a superb game for the Cheetahs as he threw for 2 touchdowns, and 310 passing yards. Heywood Banks was the benificiary of Colin's throwing game as he finished with a touchdown, and 154 receiving yards. He also finished with 22 rushing yards on one play. Monroe Johnson was the game's top rusher with 81 rushing yards. On Tuesday, the league announced the award winners for week one of the season. To very little surprise the offensive player of the week went to the New Orleans Voodoo quarterback Darren McBride who had a career game as he threw for 507 yards, and 7 touchdowns in their 52-12 win over the Kansas City Carnivores. The rookie of the week award went to fellow Voodoo teammate Wesley Matthews who caught the ball for 197 yards, and scored four touchdowns in their blowout victory over the defending Super Bowl champions. The defensive player of the week award went to the California Dragons safety Darryll York who had 3 interceptions in their 42-3 win over the Tampa Bay Burners. (Sep. 9, 2014)

New look Empires with same result to Foxes!
On Monday night, the new look New York Empires fresh off the hot offseason of additions like head coach Tim Schultz, Scott Tolzner, Matt Adams, Deagen Motts, Andre Wynn, and Robert Goodman debuted with a nightmarish 34-12 loss at the hands of the Detroit Foxes. Douglas Knotts finished the game with 322 passing yards, and 2 touchdowns. Elroy Johnson had a nice game likewise with a touchdown, and 106 rushing yards. Wallace Poole was the game's top receiver with 107 receiving yards. Clayton Cummings had 94 receiving yards, and a touchdown. Tolzner finished his first game with 213 passing yards, and no touchdowns. Tolzner also threw 3 interceptions during the game. (Sep. 8, 2014)

Last minute drive gives Minute Men the win!
Trailing 20-17 with 1:13 remaining in the game, Vance Becker orchestrated a 71 yard drive that resulted with a 14 yard touchdown pass to Brian Lee with 7 seconbds remaining to give the Boston Minute Men a 24-20 victory on Sunday night over the Chicago Enforcers. Becker finished the game with 289 passing yards, and a touchdown. Gerald Smith had some vital rushes on the final scoring drive, and finished with a touchdown, and 79 rushing yards. Smith also had 41 receiving yards for the game. Brian Lee finished the game with a touchdown, and 88 receiving yards. The Minute Men will next host the Pittsburgh Hornets, while the Enforcers will be at the Brooklyn RedBlacks. (Sep. 7, 2014)

Speed lose Jay Hudson for the year in loss!
The St. Louis Speed not only lost their season opener to the Colorado Demons by the score of 37-3 on Sunday, but they also lost their starting quarterback for the second straight year as Jay Hudson tore his acl and is done for the year. Adam Statley, who filled in admirably last season in Hudson's absence was called into the game with 7:13 remaining in the first quarter on Sunday. Statley finished the game with only 143 yards passing with no touchdowns. The Colorado defense played a nice game with 4 interceptions and one of them returned 46 yards for a touchdown. Next week, St. Louis will take on the Las Vegas Gamblers. Colorado will next take on the Cheetahs. (Sep. 7, 2014)

Gamblers offense is key in win over Knights!
Just as the defending NFC champions lost to the team they defeated in the conference title game in their season opener on Thursday night, the AFC champion Cincinnati Knights lost on Saturday night to the team that they defeated last January in the AFC title game, the Las Vegas Gamblers. The 24-17 loss was maily due to the inconsistancy of the Knights offense, which took a step back following the departure of new New York Empires head coach Tim Schultz who served last season as the Knights offensive coordinator. Calvin Ayre threw for a touchdown, and 329 yards. Earl Wregget was impressive as he had 120 rushing yards, 42 receiving yards, and two rushing touchdowns. (Sep. 6, 2014)

McBride leads Voodoo to win over Carnivores!
The championship celebration for the Kansas City Carnivores was upended on Thursday night as they were defeated in crushing fashion by the score of 52-12 to the New Orleans Voodoo. Without question, the player of the game was Darren McBride who had a career game as he threw for 507 yards, and 7 touchdowns. The other story of this game was New Orleans rookie wide receiver Wesley Matthews who caught the ball for 197 yards, and scored four touchdowns. Fellow rookie wide receiver Jacob Mallory caught the ball for 142 yards, and a touchdown.
